Heat-loving birds from Ural region preparing to the fall move towards south. Insectivorous such as cranes leave Urals first. Cranes are making flocks and teach descendants to fly.
Swifts and swallows follow cranes, who leave Ural as the defoliation starts. As ornithologists say, the birds spend winter in North Africa and Saudi Arabia. Cuckoos, sandpipers, and some of the ducks species leave for the South next.
Herbivorous start their migration after insectivorous. At last, wintering and migrating birds leave Ural. The most wide spread birds of the type are waxwings, redpolls, pine grosbeaks, and small arctic birds snow buntings. These birds move around the region searching for food.
One can watch migration in our tour "Migrating birds of the Volga delta".
