Since two years we run volonteers for the Russian national park and nature reserves project.
In Russia volonteering for nature conservation is not yet developed as worldwide. Volonteers in medicine or help for disabled, sick people are quite common. Volonteering projects in the reserves and parks are rare. Financial support from the governement is rather poor and is hardly enough for salaries and some equipement.
Therefore, volonteers are very welcome in the preserved areas all over the country. First of all "hands" needed for cleaning the territory and construction works. This year we record many curious vacancies for lanscape designers and scientists. Full list of the offers one can find here: VOLONTEER.
Along with promoting vacancies we conduct a survey among our web-page visitors about their attitude to the volonteering in the national parks and reserves. Below are the results of the survey. 64% of the respondents believe that volonteering support nature conservation, 19% receive new experience and qualification, 12% consider volonteering as cheap and interesting vacations, 4% says that volonteering is useless labour and 1% are afraid that volonteers can damage the nature.
