The Big Year

We have 656 bird species in our check-list. The luckiest could collect them within a short perion from April to July in Russia. Total check list of the country contains around 800 species. So we work hard to develop new trips to gain another 150 species. Meanwhile, we offer you to join our exciting race of "The Big Year".

The starting point would be in marvelous mountain of the Caucases in April. We descend gently from the mountain slopes to the Volga delta than and from there we head to the Baikal lake. If you are not yet tired from birding, we move more East, to the Russian Far East. Once we are finished with Primorye, Khabarovsk regions and Sakhalin island we fly to Kamchatka and Commanders. Wow, may say one, but not so much left in our schedule. We gradually move back West and visit the great siberian river Yenisey. We climb to the mountains again - by the end of June the passes of the Golden Altay are melted.

The crown of that gorgeous birding paradise would be the Russian Arctic mating place - the delta of another great siberian river -Lena. Here we seacrh for the most beautifull bird of Russia - the Ross' Gull. Once the "beauty" is in our pocket we move slowly back to Moscow via Nenets region and Kola penisula tundra.

Voila, almost 656 bird species are in your check-list, and those birds that are missing during long and intense joyrney, we are happy to find for you in Moscow and suburbs - here about 200 species registered.
